一橋大学商学部卒業後、シンクタンク勤務を経て、同大学院博士課程修了(博士(商学))。大阪市立大学准教授を経て、2012年より現職。また、東京科学大学（旧 東京医科歯科大学）大学院医療管理政策学コース(2004年～現在)ほか、多数の医療実務者教育に従事。医療分野の管理会計・原価計算を専門とし、『医療原価計算』(日本会計研究学会・太田黒澤賞受賞)、『病院管理会計』(日本公認会計士協会・学術賞-MCS賞受賞)など著書多数。
