Phuong The Nguyen is an Assistant Professor at the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), Hitotsubashi University. He earned his medical degree from Hanoi Medical University in Vietnam and completed his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Public Health at St. Luke’s International University in Japan. His expertise lies at the intersection of medicine, public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics, with a strong commitment to advancing global health equity.
Phuong's research focuses on infectious disease prevention, global health challenges, non-communicable diseases, cancer statistics, and health systems. He utilizes advanced statistical modelling to address these issues, contributing significantly to both high-income countries, such as Australia, Japan, and the US, and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
