The Research Center for Health Policy and Economics is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellows, who will initially and primarily work on research in the following topics:

  • Healthcare financing and management
  • Determinants of mental and physical health
  • Health behavior and public health policy
  • Economic evaluations of health and care technologies
  • Global health

SalaryMonthly Salary : about 318,000 ~ 513,000 Japanese yen(Salary will be determined based on experience)
Period of employmentFrom 1st April 2017 to 31th March 2019
The contract may be extended for another two years only.
Renewal of the employment period shall be determined by the following factors:
  • Volume of work remaining at the end of the employment period
  • State of budget for employment for employee
  • Work record, work attitude, and capability of employee
  • State of progress of the work done by employee
Job details
  1. To contribute or lead health economic research for publications in high-impact journals
  2. To contribute or lead to obtain external research funding
  3. To help build and strengthen the Center’s collaborative research network with Japanese and international institutions
Qualification
  1. Applicants should have received a Ph.D., or are expected to receive it within 6 months after the hiring.
  2. Excellent quantitative skills to analyze large-scale data (applied statistics and/or micro-econometrics) for health related research
  3. Skills to write up and publish research outcomes in high impact journals; skills to develop and write up competitive research proposals for external research funding
  4. Ability to work as part of a team and also to work independently
  5. It is desirable (but is not strictly required) that applicants have published their works in peer reviewed journals and/or have obtained external research funding
