In addition to her stay this year, Professor Mandy will be appointed as a HIAS Visiting Researcher during April 2025 through March 2028 as a part of the HIAS Bridges Distinguished program. Her stay this year will be from November 5 to December 4, during which she will be giving seminars and actively interacting with researchers of the University.
On November 10, she was welcomed by President Satoshi Nakano. President Nakano expressed his gratitude to Professor Mandy, also stating his high expectations towards strengthening the university’s research capabilities in the field of health economics during her appointment at Hitotsubashi University.

The HIAS Bridges Distinguished program started in 2022 as a part of the HIAS Bridges, which aims to strengthen HIAS into a “base of social science” where top-level researchers form a multi-layered research network. The HIAS Bridges Distinguished program aims to further deepen and sophisticate research at HIAS by inviting world-class researchers to HIAS internationally and conducting joint research with HIAS researchers.
