【Profile】

Harumi TAGOKU, graduated from Hitotsubashi University, Faculty of Commerce and obtained Master of Medical Administration in Health Care Policy from Graduate School of Tokyo Medical and Dental University (now Institute of Science Tokyo). After working for a city bank and as a researcher at the Institute for Health Economics and Policy, she was appointed to her current position in 2002. She is also a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Strategic Management, Chuo University. Her main academic interest in healthcare policy (e.g. medical insurance system, medical service reimbursement, healthcare system, and drug and medical device policy). At think tanks, she has been involved in more than 300 research projects in the field of healthcare policy. She has served as a member of the Expert Committee on the Evaluation of Independent Administrative Institutions and the National Hospital Subcommittee of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Study Committee on the Industrial Structure of Generic Drugs, and other national and public organizations.
