【Profile】

Reo Takaku is a professor in the Graduate School of Economics. His main academic interest is in health economics and economics of the household. He holds a BA and a MA from Keio University and a PhD in the Business and Commerce from the same university. After working for the Japan Center for Economic Research as a researcher and the Institute for Health Economics and Policy as a senior researcher, he joined Hitotsubashi University in 2019. In the field of health economics, he investigates several issues including the impact evaluation of cost-sharing policies and the quantitative analysis of political intervention on local health policy. His researches intend to apply quasi-experimental methods in micro-econometrics to the data and institutional setting in Japan, with the accurate understanding of policy and political context.
