Tamahi KATO (YAMAUCHI) has obtained M.Phil. (1998) and Ph.D. (2016) in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, U.K. After working as a consultant at UNDP Human Development Office from 1998 to 1999, she joined the UN Mission in Guatemala in the accomplishment of the Peace Accord in the health sector/social sector and worked at JICA Tanzania Office in the area of poverty monitoring. In 2006, she joined the Chronic Poverty Research Centre as a Research Fellow and worked on the analysis for Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper with the case study of health/HIV sector in Tanzania. From 2007 to 2011, as a member of consulting farms, she engaged in consultation and evaluation of various JICA technical cooperation projects. Appointed to the current position in January 2018, she focuses on the research of Senegalese health insurance system and financial protection of the poorest.]]>
