Research Center for Health Policy and Economics is established< Back to the list

Hitotsubashi University set up Research Center for Health Policy and Economics under the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study in order to enhance research in health economics.

World-class theoretical and empirical studies will be carried out in Health Economics, leading to solutions and policy proposals for policy issues relating to healthcare.  Specific research themes will extend from healthcare insurance and medical fees to frameworks for provisions of primary and other care, cost-effectiveness, and analysis of healthcare-related big data (from health insurance claims). The research will aim to establish new methodologies in such areas as statistical analysis of healthcare data. It will also encompass peripheral areas including welfare and nursing care. The results of the advanced research and analysis will be returned to society in the form of policy proposals and communications.
