Khin Thet Swe joined the Hitotsubashi Institute of Advanced Study (HIAS) in 2020. She holds Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Health Science from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Prior joining to HIAS, she worked as a consultant at the World Bank for 3 years and was involved in several policy-oriented researches on public expenditure in education and water sectors in Myanmar. She conducted health system and policy related research mainly in low- and middle-income country context. Her research focuses on health financing, health service delivery, and health issues related to access to water, sanitation, and hygiene.
